History of 233 Sqn
A very brief history of Pershore ATC.
- The Air Training Corps began in 1941 and before long 1093 Sqn ATC was formed.
- The Squadron consisted of four flights, these being Pershore, Evesham, Broadway and Prince Henry’s Grammer School, Evesham.
- As it was formed in the War years, quite a few of those first cadets joined the forces.
- The Pershore flight was formed at the Secondary Modern, as it was known then.
- In those early days the cadets did not have to travel far to fly, as Pershore, Defford and Honeybourne were near by.
- Our Squadron has in its time been a detached flight of 187 Sqn , Worcester.
- On the 16th October 1987 the 187 DF became 233 (Pershore) Squadron.
